Animals rarely tell us they are in pain. They tell us by changing: a horse that resists on one rein, a dog that hesitates at the stairs, an older pony that stops coming forward off the leg. Behaviour change is often the first sign of discomfort, long before a limp appears.
Physiotherapy also has a defined role after surgery, where controlled loading protects the repair while rebuilding the muscle lost during rest, and in long-term wellbeing, where regular treatment keeps ageing joints mobile.

You film your animal walking, trotting and moving through a short set of everyday tasks using a simple filming guide. Megan reviews the footage frame by frame, then talks you through the findings on a live video call and sends a written programme with demonstration clips for each exercise.

Common Questions
Quick answers before you book
Yes. UK law requires veterinary consent before a physiotherapist can treat your animal. If you don't have a formal referral yet, just tell us who your vet is when you get in touch and we'll request it for you before your first visit.
Many policies cover physiotherapy as part of a claim, particularly after surgery or injury, but it depends on your provider and level of cover. We can provide invoices and clinical notes formatted for a claim, and it's worth checking with your insurer first.
It varies with the condition, but most owners see a noticeable change within two to three sessions. Chronic or post-surgical cases usually follow a longer programme with reviews every two to four weeks, which we'll map out at the initial assessment.

Urgent or emergency cases: physiotherapy is not emergency care. If your animal is in acute distress, contact your veterinary surgeon or an out-of-hours emergency service immediately.
