General
Yes. UK law requires veterinary consent before a physiotherapist can treat your animal. If you don't have a formal referral yet, just tell us who your vet is when you get in touch and we'll request it for you before your first visit.
It varies with the condition. Post-surgical cases typically need four to six sessions over eight to twelve weeks; chronic conditions like arthritis are usually managed with maintenance treatment every four to eight weeks. You'll get an honest estimate at the initial assessment, not a fixed package.
No. Treatment is carried out at your animal's pace, with breaks whenever needed. Most animals settle within a few minutes, and many dogs fall asleep during manual therapy.
Physiotherapy focuses on manual therapy, targeted exercise and electrotherapy to restore movement and function. Hydrotherapy uses water-based exercise, often alongside physiotherapy. Chiropractic and osteopathy focus on joint manipulation. They can be complementary, and Megan will say if another discipline would help alongside, or instead of, physiotherapy.

Visits within 25 miles of Scarborough are included in the session fee. Mileage charges may apply to visits beyond that radius. Equine visits are grouped by area and booked in yard blocks where possible.
No. We carry a portable power station, so equipment including WINBACK tecar therapy runs anywhere: a stable, a barn, a field or a driveway, with no sockets required. All we really need is a reasonably level, non-slip strip around 20 metres long to assess movement, and somewhere your animal is settled enough to be handled.
You can get in touch directly. You don't need to speak to your vet first; we just need their details so we can request formal consent before treatment starts, which is a legal requirement, not a formality we can skip.
That's the normal starting point for most owners. Tell us who your vet is when you get in touch, and we request consent on your behalf; it usually takes a day or two.
Pricing & Insurance
Most UK policies cover veterinary physiotherapy when it is carried out on veterinary referral. We provide itemised invoices and treatment reports for your claim, and can send them directly to your insurer on request.

Blocks of WINBACK tecar sessions are available, priced on application. A multi-horse discount applies for five or more horses at the same yard. For dogs and individual horses, sessions are booked and charged individually so you are never paying for treatment you might not need.
Online Services
It covers everything except hands-on palpation. For many conditions, such as gait asymmetry, straightness or return-to-work progress, video analysis is genuinely diagnostic. Where hands-on assessment is essential, we will say so plainly.
Yes. Video consultations work anywhere with a stable internet connection. A small number of clinical recommendations are UK-specific, and we will flag those clearly.
Just a phone or tablet, a flat area roughly 10–15 metres long, and someone to lead or walk alongside your animal. A filming guide is sent before every online session.
Emergencies & Working With Others
Physiotherapy is not emergency care. If your animal is in acute distress, has collapsed, or is non-weight-bearing, contact your veterinary surgeon or an out-of-hours emergency service immediately rather than booking a physiotherapy consultation.
Regularly. Physiotherapy will not hold if saddle fit or foot balance is working against it, so we liaise with your team where it is relevant and say so plainly when something outside physiotherapy needs addressing.
